Early Childhood Education and Quality Child Care for Working Families

Quality early education has an immediate impact on both the hard skills – language, numeracy, higher cognitive thinking – and the soft skills – social skills – that last a lifetime.

The Children’s Center welcomes and appreciates people willing to volunteer their time and expertise to improve the educational environment for our students.


Below is a list of opportunities, it is not exclusive, we are happy to discuss individual preferences and can be flexible with time availability.


The Children’s Center Volunteer Opportunities


Classroom Assistant

1 hour, 1 day per week
Partner with a classroom teacher, read, play, tutor etc.


After School Tutor
1 hour, 1 day per week
Work with children on homework or help strengthen their basic skill.


Committee Volunteer

2-4 hours, monthly

Be part of a committee and help improve the operations of the organization – development, marketing, finance.


Maintenance & Upkeep

2-4 hours, monthly

Help with ongoing project such as playground maintenance, window washing, painting, etc.


Arts Volunteer

1–5 hours, weekly or monthly

Provide expertise in art or music with our children, a special class can be designed with you as the leader.


Records Scanner

As available

TCC has a need to digitize our records and has hundreds of pages needing scanned. This can be done over a period of time, based on availability.
